Can you discuss any contraindications in the history of the Biomat? Pregnancy, high blood pressure, etc.
There are no known contraindications, however, because the BioMat is detoxifing it is advisable to go slow. Starting at lower temperature levels between 1-3, less time 15-30 minutes and gradually increase. The best advise is to listen to the needs of your body.

What do you mean by "detoxifying"?
As the Amethyst Biomat helps the body to cleanse and detoxify, some users will experience one or more symptoms of detoxification— sometimes referred to as a ‘healing crisis’. These symptoms may include more frequent bowel movements and urination, slight nausea, mild headaches, various discharges, mucus, skin breakouts or acne. As the body receives a constant stream of light wave energetics that it needs to strengthen itself, the body’s vital force increases. This enables the body to liquefy accumulated waste and toxins that have been lodged in the tissues, cells and organs of the body for many years, and to eliminate them as phlegm, mucus, etc. This is nature's way of righting some internal wrong. It is also known as the “reversal process”. Whatever has been suppressed in the body for years liquefies and is eliminated through the normal elimination channels.

Does Richway have any documented case studies available?
Richway's partnership with Fuji Biosciences has begun clinical research and we will post the results as we have them below. In addition, there are plenty of incredible anecdotal testimonials! I made an informal study in May during a Richway conference. 22 conference participants had their energy assessed through an AuraVideo computer before and after using the biomat. In all cases, energy shifted, depending on what the participant needed. Owner of the company, Calvin Kim, shown on right with his wife, Jeanna, at the White House with President Bush, had a very interesting shift. Before using the BioMat, Calvin's energy/aura was yellow - indicating a very powerful personal power emitting from his solar plexus. This is to be expected, as he had just spent the weekend before a large group presenting the Biomat. But after laying for 20 minutes on the BioMat, his energy shifted to a relaxing, healing blue/green. (see below)

People are supposed to lie on a cotton sheet when using the mat. What happens if they are wearing synthetic clothing or underwear?
Synthetics produce more positive ions, which compete and are less beneficial than negative ions.

Can you use the mat several times a day? If yes, is this allowable on all settings?
The best advise is to listen to the needs of your body... we are all different and we are all different on different days! What evidence does Richway have that it is healthful (and not harmful) to sleep on the Bio Mat 8 hours a night? Since the BioMat was originally created in twin/queen bed sizes, with timers...this is the ultimate usage, however, it is not recommended to sleep on the biomat at high temperature settings. regardless of control setting. Check skin frequently to avoid burning and blistering. #10: Do not use this pad with liniment, salve or ointment preparations that contain heat-producing ingredients. Skin burns could result. Page 8, under Therapeutic Recommendations: - Use a high temperature of (F 140-158 / C 65-70) for only 20~60 minutes per day to relieve arthritis pain and stress or relaxing sauna/detoxification.
- Use a low setting of (F 95-113 / C 35-45) for a good nights sleep, or use no heat (power on only) for cool refreshing negative ions.

Who are RichWay International and Fuji Bio Sciences?
 The founders of Richway International, Jeanna + Calvin Kim, were originally in the jewelry business which took them to Japan and Korea. This high-pressured stress-filled business led to detrimental health conditions.
Calvin suffered from high blood pressure, clogged arteries, fatigue, headaches and at the time, decided to stop smoking. Jeanna had been suffering from an ‘unknown’, deep within, itchiness that lead to hives, welts, bleeding skin and much discomfort. She could find no relief for years and had to cover up from her neck to toes and fingertips due to the poor condition of her skin. She felt systemically very toxic and her body was trying to process it in a very uncomfortable way.
(Note: Calvin was very familiar with conventional medicine as his father was the chief surgeon at a major hospital. Calvin was expected to follow his fathers’ footsteps, however at the age of 7 when he observed his first surgery he decided then and there that this was not for him.)
It was during this time that they were investing in a Jade mine for their jewelry business.
