The Fogger and Light Fountains use a ceramic disk electric mist maker that produces a cool mist and a small water spray. You place clean tap water into the bowl and see the cool fog vapor ethereally rising out of the water immediately. No water pump is needed in our mister fountains. Additional Notes about Misters, Foggers and Fountains The mister/fogger sits 2 to 3 inches below the surface of regular clean tap water. Using ultrasonic sound, vibrations, the surface of the water is turned into a mist.. The mister head must be fully under water when power is on. The mist can flow out of the container and re-accumulate on the surface of the floor or table near by, so the fountains should be located in areas that are hardy to water vapor. When the water level becomes low, a sensing probe shuts off unit automatically. Simply unplug the power or add more water. Depending upon the dryness of the air, water may need to be added daily to ensure smooth operation. After the mister runs for several months, the amount of mist may reduce due to some mineral build up on the surface of the mister ceramic disk. This indicates that the ceramic disk requires cleaning or replacing. Screw off the winding ring, remove the washer and ceramic disk from mister. Cleaning ceramic disk with soft cloth or replacing it will return the unit to normal function. Do not try to clean or touch the mister ceramic disk while it is operating. Replacement disks are available. The replacement kit comes with a ceramic disk and tool to unscrew the ring. The price is $8.00/set. (Once you remove the disk from the kit and place it in your fountain, the disk kit is considered used and we do not accept returns.) As a general rule of thumb when selecting disk size.* Automatic mist units - those that you plug in and they rotate through colors by themselves - often use 16mm disks. Mist units with controllers and remote controllers often use 20 mm disks. Please measure your disk size before ordering to be absolutely sure! 16mm disks are the size of a dime* 20 mm disks are the size of a nickel *Open disk kits are considered used and not returnable for credit!

PROBLEMS/TROUBLESHOOTING It is recommended to operate mister no more than 8 hours per day. Connecting the transformer to a timer will insure your mist unit operating only when needed. The mist unit sends up small jets of water while in operation. Avoid placing the unit where water spillage or condensation may cause damage to furniture, electronic products or floors. Use of clean water is recommended. When the water is dirty, change it with clean water, as dirty water will affect normal misting production. Do not use household abrasive cleaners on any part of the mist unit. You may clean it with soft cloth in clean water. If your fountain stops misting, first check the water level. Water must be above the water sensor, extending above the mist unit itself. If the water level is OK, the next step is to replace the ceramic disk in the base of the fogger. If you purchased a mist fountain from us, you received a free replacement disk for this purpose. If you need additional disks, you may order them above. Replacing the disk does not guarantee that your fountain will work. It is simply the least expensive step in problem solving. If replacing the disk does not resolve the problem, you may order replacement parts in our fountain supplies section. We provide warranty only on fountains purchased from us on this website or in our store in Otto, NC. If you call saying that you bought one of our fountains at a flea market in Iowa, then you did not purchase the fountain from us. You purchased it from another dealer and we suggest you contact the person who sold you the fountain for their warranty information. There are many mist fountain manufacturers and sellers and the electronics of the fountains vary according to the manufacturer. The fountains we carry have proven to have the most reliable electronics over the years and our customers have been very satisfied with our fountains. We will do everything we can to help you if you purchased a fountain from another seller, however, we cannot warranty fountains that you purchased elsewhere, nor are we responsible for their reliability. We appreciate questions and do our best to answer them when they are asked in a kind manner.
To Clean or Replace the Ceramic Disk Unplug the mister and remove it from water container. Dry off water from unit. Using the replacement disk/key tool, insert the key into the winding ring and turn counter clockwise. Remove the filler piece (washer) and ceramic disk. IMPORTANT, note that there is a front and back of the ceramic disk. Be sure to reinstall with the correct side (No black color ring side) facing up. Clean mineral deposits on the ceramic disk with a soft cloth and reinstall it or proceed to install a new ceramic disk in the reverse order of the above. The inside area of the mister cavity must be completely dry before the parts are installed. return to top of page
