Shiva, (Sanskrit: “Auspicious One”) is one of the main deities of Hinduism, whom Shaivites worship as the supreme god. Among his common epithets are Shambhu (“Benign”), Shankara (“Beneficent”), Mahesha (“Great Lord”), and Mahadeva (“Great God”). Shiva is considered to be the most powerful of the three Gods in the Hindu Trimurti and also the most complex. Despite his frightful reputation as “the destroyer,” Shiva is typically found in peaceful meditation.

Because of his destructive nature, Shiva is also known as the God of War or the wrathful avenger. In esoteric symbolism, the term “soul” is code for the subconscious mind. When you change the programs of your subconscious you can change habits that do not serve you. The principal power of Shiva comes from helping you realise your true self by destroying aspects of your character and belief systems that are no longer serving your best interests.
