In October the residents of Western North Carolina experienced over 2000 landslides resulting in the destruction of over 7,000 sites where roads and bridges require repait and more than 100,000 homes and uncounted businesses were destroyed by the 30 inches of rain from Hurricane Helene. There are still families living in tents on what’s left of their land.
