Cedarwood essential oil is Stabilizing – it helps balance and calm your energy and is an excellent calming agent to alleviate anxiety and stress. Medicinally, it is a useful therapeutic agent for respiratory and skin problems. Cedarwood oil can be used to renew the smell of natural cedar furniture or added to sprays, candles and other products. Cedarwood aromatherapy oil can be diffused or used in a blend of oils for massaging or blended with personal care products. Cedarwood should always be diluted with a carrier oil for topical application as it can irritate the skin if applied directly. Stones associated with the Stabilizing effect of Cedarwood are: Petrified Wood (patience, grounding, ancestral healing), Moss Agate (grounds excessive energy), blue moonstone (deep healing).

Cedarwood is a woody-scented essential oil that comes from the Juniperus Virginiana tree which is native to North America. The oil is extracted using steam distillation from cedar woodchips and dates back to ancient Egypt – it is thought to be one of the first essential oils ever extracted. The Egyptians used the oil in cosmetics, as an insect repellant and in the embalming process. Native Americans have used Cedarwood oils for both medicinal purposes and in purification ceremonies.
