Patchouli Dark Essential Oil – Tranquility

Dark Patchouli Oil is Tranquil, evoking the Energy of the Hara or Dan Tian – the Center of the Core Energy of our bodies.  In Chinese literature, it is said that we are only as healthy, calm, centered and peaceful as the Hara. Chinese acupuncture points to this area, between the navel and lumbar spine as the place where we received the life force from our Mother’s umbilical cord. Known as the focal point of all body energy, when tranquil, we are flowing, without restriction, in body, mind and spirit. To empower the Dan Tian, Dark Patchouli oil is often used in massage or aroma jewelry with the following crystals:  Rose Quartz (unconditional love and infinite peace), Blue Lace Agate (soothing bestower of peace of mind) and Amethyst (purple ray of peace, contentment and inner strength).

Patchouli is a member of the Lamiaceae (mint) family and is cultivated in Southeast Asia. Our high-quality oil has a deep, earthy scent which, when used sparingly adds depth to essential oil blends and is also used as a fixative in the natural perfume industry.

Aside from its use as a fragrance, Patchouli has many medicinal uses. It is used extensively in skin-care formulations to alleviate inflamed and irritated skin as well as in rejuvenating and anti-aging formulas. Its anti-fungal properties make it useful for treating athlete’s foot and it is also found in hair products to combat dandruff and excess oil. Patchouli’s scent is a balm for those who suffer from anxiety, insomnia or melancholy. Today, it is used to scent textiles, help repel insects and in the flavoring industry.

The dark version of patchouli oil gets its color from being distilled in iron vessels rather than in stainless steel which is used for the light version, however the aromas are fairly close.
